Interesting Points
  • First Flight: 1958

  • Over 5,000 built, Set numerous speed records 1960's

  • USAF's first designation was F-110A but switched to the F-4C in 1962 when the services went to a common designation system


    • Design Points of Interest
  • Engine exhast cones infront of Tail section, Engines give off black smoke
  • Down pointed horizontal stabilizers (required for high speed stability)
  • Did not have a canon until the "E" model! Everyone thought dog fights were a thing of the past
